This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It applies to this website and the forms, accounts, and educational content offered through it.
Sterling Capital Technologies does not sell your personal data. We collect the minimum needed to run the site, respond to enquiries, and keep the service secure.
What we collect.
02 / Collection Scope// Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it.
// Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
// Member dashboard
If you have a member account, your dashboard keeps a record of what you do with us so you can see it in one place: your products and their settings, the requests and messages you send the desk, and the Sentinel Suite forms you have submitted, with their status. Your Sentinel Suite history shows only the date, the trading account number and what you asked for. Passwords and other sensitive details you entered on a form are never shown in the dashboard.
If you add a profile photo, we keep a small square copy (400 by 400 pixels) with the location and camera details removed. It is shown to you, to the Sterling Capital Technologies team, and wherever your profile picture appears on the site, such as next to a comment you leave. You can change or remove it at any time under Account, and removing it deletes the file.
// Cookies
If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies, for your convenience. These last for one year. If you have an account and log in, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies; it contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. Login and screen-option cookies persist for up to two weeks. If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks; logging out removes the login cookies.
// Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, Myfxbook widgets, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor had visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
// Analytics
We use WP Statistics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. This records anonymized usage data and may log IP addresses for security and abuse prevention. This site is also protected by reCAPTCHA; the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
// Emails we send
Some emails we send to account holders about their account or products include a tiny invisible image. When your email app loads it, we record that the email was opened and when. This helps our team spot a message that may have gone missing. The record is kept with your account, and only our team can see it. We never add it to sign-in codes or password emails, and we do not use it for advertising. Some email apps load images by themselves, so a recorded open may be automatic. To stop it, turn off automatic image loading in your email app.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users that register on the website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
// What you can do
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Members can do both themselves, on the Account page of their dashboard. Download my data gives you one file with everything we keep about you. Delete my account closes your account after a confirmation step: you can no longer sign in, and we stop emailing you. We keep a locked record of your details and purchases, because a business has to keep its records for accounting and the law. Only our administrators can see it, and we never use it for marketing. To have more of your personal data erased than we are obliged to keep, you can still ask us.
// Who we share with
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam-detection service. We do not sell personal data. Where required to run the site (hosting, email delivery, analytics, fraud prevention, e-signature, and broker onboarding referrals), data may be processed by service providers acting on our behalf under appropriate confidentiality obligations. Account funds and brokerage relationships are always held directly between you and your independent regulated broker. We never receive or hold your funds.
