Verified vs Unverified Results: The Red Flags Checklist

A screenshot is not evidence and a back-test is not a record. The checklist that separates proof from marketing.

Every strategy looking for your money will show you numbers. The only question that matters is whether those numbers are evidence or decoration. The difference is a matter of verification, not trust, and it can be checked in minutes once you know what to look for.

Why a screenshot proves nothing

A screenshot can be edited in seconds. A back-test shows how a strategy would have performed on past data with perfect hindsight, not how it actually traded with real money at risk. Both can look spectacular and mean nothing. Real evidence comes from a record pulled directly from a live broker account, which is exactly what you learn to read in how to read a Myfxbook track record.

The red flags

  • Results shown only as images, videos, or a back-test, never a live, verifiable account.
  • Guaranteed, fixed, or “risk-free” returns.
  • No visible drawdown, or a curve that only ever goes up.
  • A short history dressed up as a long track record.
  • Pressure, urgency, or “limited spots” framing.
  • Any request to send funds to a person rather than a regulated broker.

The green flags

  • A verified, live track record spanning many months and different market conditions.
  • Honest, visible drawdown: the worst moments shown, not hidden.
  • Returns described alongside risk, with no guarantees.
  • Funds held in your own name at a regulated broker.
The red flags tell you when no one even tried to make the numbers real.

What to ask for instead

When the proof is missing, ask for it plainly: a verified live record, the full drawdown history, and the deposit and withdrawal record behind the headline percentage. An honest operator will have these ready. If the answer is another screenshot, you have your answer. Reading a record is one skill; judging whether it is any good is the next.

Nothing here is financial advice, and past performance (even when verified) is not a guarantee of future results. This is education, so that you can tell proof from marketing on your own.
